Terms of service.
Short, and in plain language: these are the terms on which Rey Translation and Education Services works with you. Last updated 2 July 2026.
The service
Rey Translation provides certified (sworn) translation, conference interpreting and other language services between Spanish and English, performed by Jesús J. Lasso Rey, sworn translator accredited by the High Court of Justice of Namibia.
Estimates and quotes
The figure shown immediately after you upload a document is an automatic estimate, not an offer. The binding price is the written quote you receive afterwards, which you are free to accept or decline. A job begins only once you accept the quote.
Deposits and payment
Some jobs require a deposit before work begins; if so, the amount and payment instructions appear with your quote. The finished translation is released once the balance is settled, unless agreed otherwise. Accepted payment methods are stated on the quote itself.
Your source document
You are responsible for supplying a legible, complete and authentic source document. A certified translation attests to the accuracy of the translation of what was provided. It does not authenticate the original document itself, and it is not legal advice.
Certified translations
Certified translations are stamped and signed by the sworn translator and carry a verification reference. Whether a particular authority accepts a sworn Namibian translation for a particular purpose is that authority's decision; if you tell us the destination and purpose in advance, we will flag any known issues before you pay.
Turnaround
Quoted turnaround times are given in good faith and met in the overwhelming majority of cases. If something threatens a deadline, such as an illegible source, a query about a name, or a power cut, you will hear about it early, not after the deadline passes.
Confidentiality
Everything you send is treated as confidential, as described in the privacy policy. That obligation does not expire when the job ends.
If something goes wrong
If a translation contains an error, it will be corrected at no charge; that is always the first remedy. Beyond correction, liability for any claim arising from a job is limited to the fee paid for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia. Questions about them are welcome at translation.rey@protonmail.com.
